No BUTS Allowed. Five steps to the finish line.

Impression Engineers’ “START” Method

Solution: Why are we doing this? Define the purpose or solution you need.

Target: What are we developing? As Covey says, “Begin with the end in mind.”

Accomplish: How do we accomplish? Start by viewing the project from beyond the completion date and work backwards breaking down the steps, components and subcomponents. Capture all the features, aspects, and qualities you imagine in place.

Resolve: When do we do these things? After identifying the components even down to the subcomponents, sequences, events, and/or priorities, what must happen and in what order? Place your components in a logical order and then GET STARTED! (Nothing is written in stone, you can always go back and recover a step or two.) The bulletin board and index cards work well at this step for organizing projects.

TahDah: What will the “TahDah It’s here!” moment look, sound, or feel like? No "Yeah, but…" allowed.

If you would like the complete START method, just drop me a note. I’ll be happy to forward it to you.
