How to Insert a Photo or ClipArt using Impression Engineers CMS Tutorial
From an Image on your own computer
1. Click on the “Insert/Edit Image” button found in the toolbar above the text box of your blog post.
To insert an image into a post or page from an image located somewhere else such as the Internet or your own computer use the “Insert/Edit Image” button.
Prepare the image for upload before going further with these directions. See “Prepare Image for Upload” file for more detailed directions.
For standard clipart and small web-view photos (not for printing, just viewing on screen) use a image software such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe image Ready and resize image to the size you need and make the resolution of the image 72 dpi.
A small box will open called “Image Button” with three tabs, left to right: “Image Info”, “Upload”, “Advanced”.
2. Click on “Upload”
3. Click on “Browse…”
The File Upload Box will appear with the files located on your computer.
4. Navigate (browse) using this Box to where the file to be uploaded is stored
5. Choose the file by clicking once on it to highlight the file.
6. Click on “Open” in the lower right corner of the “File Upload” box
Once “Open” is clicked, that box will close returning you to the Image Properties Box.
7. Click on “Send it to the Server” button under the link now inserted from the Browse feature
(Depending on the size of the selection, loading the image to the server may take a little bit of time)
8. Click on “OK”
This will return you to the Image Info Tab.
The Image should appear in the lower right Preview window.
It is best to have the image sized correctly before uploading. (See Prepare Image for Upload tutorial.) The Image Info tab does allow for minor resizing using the Width and Height box located left of Preview.
The default is in the locked position to avoid stretching or misshaping the image. It can be unlocked by clicking on the “Padlock” icon. The icon will then appear as an unlocked padlock. (See image below)
To “Fix” an error in sizing the arrow in the shape of a circle can be clicked once to Reset to the original size of the image. (See image above)
You can “Add Alternative Text” if desire. This text will show if the image cannot show for any reason or if an end-user had the read text option turned on for their browsers. Most often this is used for people with disabilities that may not be able to see the image.
Border will create a rule (a line) around the image, use low numbers such as 1 or 2 (typically no more than 5) if you desire a border.
H Space is the horizontal white space typically between 0 –15.
V Space is the vertical white space typically between 0 –15.
Align is how and where you want it to be on the page or within your table.
When you are finished, Click on “OK”
From an Image already Uploaded and/or on your Server
1. Click on the Insert/Edit Image button

3. Click on “Browse Server”
The Resources of the Server box will appear. In the upper left is a drop-down menu titled “Resource Type”.
4. Choose the file type, the folder will open and show all in the resources (files) in that folder
5. Click on the title of the item you are wanting to use
This will return you to the Image Info tab. The Image should appear in the lower right Preview window.
